Minelite Pty Ltd was incorporated from the need to find better alternative lighting solutions for underground miners. The modern miner is involved in a different role to that of the older miner. They carry out a variety of different roles which require a smaller, lighter battery that delivers light over a 12 hour shift and can be transported by road sea or air with a non dangerous goods classification.
The flagship battery "Southern Aurora" SA 1000 has been designed and developed with the help and advice from some of the world’s leading mining companies and contractors. The batteries sold to our customers are designed and assembled in Western Australia and distributed throughout the world by Minelite Pty Ltd.
Some of the batteries in the very first batch that were made, have been in the field for over four years without return for repair or warranty. This is testimony to the reliability and toughness of the battery to handle the harsh conditions of underground mining.
